• Workshop - Red Deer College Summer Series

From making small, refined intimate objects to making large ornamental objects, this course is designed to help students expand their perception of the full potential of the potter’s wheel in relationship to developing forms to be fired atmospherically. Students will learn how decisions made during the making and loading steps can affect the surfaces created in an atmospheric kiln. Students will have time to create work to contribute to and participate in a soda firing. We will also examine historical and contemporary atmospheric ceramics to better understand the relationship of surface and form.
